Adult Life Skills
The overarching objective of the Rainbow Village program is to facilitate a change in behavior in the families that seek our assistance. A fundamental component of achieving this goal is to help the adult heads-of-household identify the learned behaviors that contribute to their homelessness, while providing the environment, opportunities and resources that will allow them to replace those limiting behaviors with more adaptive ones.
Five Core Areas
To cover important information in the five core areas, residents attend scheduled classes facilitated by community volunteers with expertise in the subject area. Classes include budgeting, home and automobile maintenance, parenting, financial planning, career counseling and credit building. We also offer job training, educational scholarships and GED preparation. Adult Life Skills classes fall into five general categories:
Education & Training
Well Being
Financial Management
Family Stability
Employment & Career Management
